Conference Room Policy
The Feleti Barstow Public Library conference room is available, free of charge, for use by ASG Departments and Agencies, or non-profit community groups for informational, educational, or cultural meetings and programs. Seating capacity:25
Use of the library conference room does not imply endorsement by the library staff or the library Board of Directors, of the goals or ideas of the sponsoring group holding the meeting or the viewpoints presented.
In general, the Board adopts Article 6 of the Library Bill of Rights that states:
"Libraries which make exhibit space and meeting rooms available to the public they serve should make such facilities available on an equitable basis, regardless of the beliefs or affiliations of individuals or groups requesting their use."
The FBPL encourages the use of the library conference room as long as this use does not interfere with the normal functions of the library. No admission fee may be charged. No materials, goods or services shall be sold for private profit or gain.
The Library reserves the right to deny applications for use based on the availability of space, the requested frequency of use, and/or the potential for disruption of library service.
CONFERENCE ROOM RULES
The Conference Room is only to be used during library hours. If advance set-up is required before 9:00AM, it must be done on the previous day. Groups must vacate the room at least ten minutes before the building is closed.
All groups and individuals must recognize that they are in a library, and quietness will be observed both inside and outside of the conference room.
The Conference Room must be restored to its original clean condition. Users agree to accept financial responsibility for all damages caused to the building, furnishings and/or equipment beyond normal wear
Reservations for the use of the conference room shall be on a first-come first-served basis. Reservations shall be made at least two weeks in advance of the planned meeting or event using the Conference Room. Reservations may be made up to 3 months in advance of the event. On occasion, Library needs take precedence over a previously scheduled meeting, in which case the scheduling group will be notified as far in advance as possible.

Groups may not state or imply that the Library sponsors or endorses their organization, the meeting, or the viewpoints presented at the meeting.
Children must be supervised at all times. The Library is not responsible for children left unattended in the Library while their parent or guardian is in a meeting in the Library Conference Room.
